Monkeyin' around!

Disclaimer: I wrote this post in April and never got around to posting it. Forgive me!

On Saturday, we had Leah's birthday party. It was a monkey theme, and Aunt Cassie made her invitation. (Sugar Bee Designs!)

We had monkey cupcakes and pictures of our monkey on the mantle. We had monkey/Easter party favors. Leah loved her monkey balloons which she calls "bahs." Our backyard was ready for guests, even though it was quite warm outside.

Leah's friends and family came over to help celebrate. She was a great hostess. She waved and entertained everyone. She also shared her toys with Jackson, Abby, Avery, and Cody.

We all talked and the kids played. We ate a whole large tray of Chick-Fil-A nuggets with all the trimmings!

When it was time for presents, she wasn't all that interested until we would pull a toy out. She was very curious about her new dolly from Granny and Granddad, and she kept giving it kisses. She got a lot of beautiful clothes and lots of fun toys. Thanks everyone!

After she opened gifts (or Mommy did), we had cake. Leah looked very confused when everyone started singing "Happy Birthday" but seemed to enjoy the attention! We helped her blow out the candle just intime for her to try to touch it. Ouch!
She dug into the icing and just kept shovelin' it in! Then she fed anyone who wanted some! Most of her guests preferred having their own cupcake though.

After the party, Leah was on a bit of a sugar high for a few hours, but then she crashed hard for a few hours. We were worried she had slept too late to have a good bedtime, but she went to bed at the usual 8:00.

What a great day! Leah had fun, and so did our guests.
