So, we may have been spoiling little Leah this past month and a half. We pretty much hold her for her naps and she has been sleeping between us in a little bed every night. It has been wonderful just rolling over to check on her, but my long little girl is quickly growing out of that little bed.
So, last night Justin and I tried to put her in her pack n play (still in our room) for bed. She was fast asleep, but as soon as her litle head hit the bed her eyes were WIDE! So, wanting to get some sleep ourselves, we went ahead and put her back to sleep and then laid her in her little bed. She zonked out and slept her usual 11 hours (with two feedings of course). We thought the transition would be better for naps and then we would work on bedtime.
So my mom came over today and we tried putting her in her crib each time she fell asleep. She slept MAYBE ten minutes each time, if that. We even tried putting her little bed inside the crib, but she was too smart for that!
I didn't want her to be cranky, so my mom held her for a good long nap. When she left, I put her in her pack n play again and she slept for about 30 minutes. She stirred a little, woke up to poop (lol) but stayed in there a good while! Little by little we will be successful. Mommy and daddy want their bed back!

Leah's First Friend

Avery and Cassie McClung came to visit Leah and me yesterday. Cassie and I had fun chatting while Avery watched Mickey's Clubhouse and Leah fell in and out of sleep. We had full intentions of documenting this first meeting through pictures, but...
We had an ant invasion! Ants sniffed out some apple juice, marched in one by one, and had to be taken care of. I got some spray and vacuumed them up. Leah started crying, but was soothed by the vacuum. The vacuum caused Avery to cry. Once I turned it off, they were both screaming! So, Cassie and Avery made a quick exit, and Leah and I cuddled so she would calm down. Oh the drama! Needless to say, pictures did not happen. But, there will be many more opportunities!

So many people love Leah!!

Uncle Ryan came to visit Leah all the way from Chicago this past weekend. She wore a very cute outfit to meet him. Although she was super cute, she threw a huge hissy fit on the way home from the airport. I guess she doesn't know yet that first impressions are important. Good thing it didn't matter! Uncle Ryan fell in love anyways! We had a lot of fun hanging out, eating, catching up, and playing "Pass the Leah." I can't wait for family vacation when we can do it again, with Aunt Chelsa!

I'm 1 month old!

Leah is one month old today! I can't believe it!
She is a happy baby. She eats like a champ, sleeps like a champ, and certainly is a champion pooper! We love every face she makes and every sleeping position. Justin and I could watch her all day long!
Once her cord fell off, we started tummy time. This is not her favorite thing, but she is holding her head up for a few seconds at a time, and switching from side to side amidst the crying.
She loves her new seahorse that plays music and her elephant, Earl. Justin and I have already learned the songs Earl plays and sometimes I catch Justin humming them to himself. heehee
We feel so blessed to be her parents and look forward to smiles and giggles in the months to come.
I thought it would be fun to give everyone a "month in pictures." Yep, there is at LEAST a picture per day to share, but in order to get this post up on time I left out a day here and there. There are still plenty! :) Enjoy!
