Leah's Two Week Check-up

Today my mom and I took Leah to her two week check-up at Dr. Cohen's office. I was nervous because he wanted her to be back to birth weight by this visit or soon thereafter. We were supposed to wake her every two hours during the night to feed her, but after a few nights of this, we decided that waking a sleeping baby was not good for her or us.
The moment of truth-- Leah weighed 8 lbs. on the dot! Which is not quite birth weight, but she had gained 8 oz. in 7 days. Dr. Cohen was happy with that, and I let out a sigh of relief. They also measured her today, and she has already grown 3/4 in. for a whopping 22 inches! She is in the 97th percentile for length. Do I have a middle blocker on my hands? Maybe an Aggie middle blocker?? Maybe she will share my love of volleyball...
We have made it through 15 days as being parents. Leah is such a sweet baby, and we feel very blessed to be her mommy and daddy. I have to thank my mom for coming over and helping with everything: cooking, laundry, taking care of Leah while I catch a nap, foot rubs, and taking us to the doctor when Justin had to go back to work. We truly appreciate our families help.
