The Final Countdown!

Two weeks ago, I had my 36 week ultrasound. Kyle was very active and looked great! Dr. Andrews thought he was about 7 lbs. and wouldn't wait much longer before making his entrance into the world.  But two weeks later and possibly a pound or two more, he is still hanging out in there! He is having fun scraping his foot across my stomach, chilling in my rib cage, and just being big. I can't wait to hold him in my arms, but most of all, I can't wait for his sister to meet him.

The other day, we were eating dinner, and I told her, "It's almost July. Do you know what that means?"
She said, "I dunno!"
I said, "That means Kyle is coming verrrry soon."
She got the biggest smile, threw her arms in the air, and shouted, "Hooray!"
Sweetest thing...

Then tonight, while I was putting her to bed, she asked, "When will Kyle come, Mommy?"
"I don't know, but soon."
She is beyond excited. Does she really know what's in store for her? No, but she sure wants that brother. :D

Here is the ultrasound picture from June 17. The ultrasound tech also said he has a little hair, and she confirmed that he is, in fact, a boy! LOL!

I go back to the doctor on Friday and get another ultrasound if he hasn't come yet. Dr. Andrews seems to think he will come before that. We'll see!!

Maternity Pics by Stephanie

My friend from church, Stephanie, owns her own photography business. I am so glad I asked her to do my maternity pics. She was amazing!!
Here are a few of my favorites:

I will definitely be using Stephanie again in the future!!

Waiting for baby

Thought I'd get back on this neglected blog to update our growing family. Kyle Ryan Etchison is scheduled to arrive in July. We are very excited to welcome a baby boy to our family!
The finished nursery pics are on my other blog: www.handmadebyallisonblog.blogspot.com :)

Here are some pics of our time waiting for Kyle:

My Little Greenbean turns 3!

I know it's been forever and a day since I've used this blog, but a very important day is coming soon! Leah will be three next Friday!
She has such a sweet and loving nature. She loves to play pretend, run around outside, see her friends, and go to Sunday school. She is her mommy's baby and her daddy's girl (or ghoul as she pronounces it). And she is very excited about her baby brother, Kyle, who wil be making his debut in July.
We love her more everyday, even when she shows us her temper!
This year's big milestone: we said goodbye to Pootie (her pacifier). It was a tough week, but Leah is a big girl now. We are also currently working on potty training. Oh joy!

Here are some pictures from this year that show what a big girl she has become:

Dewberry Farms

The Rhemans asked us to go with them to Dewberry Farms. It was nice outside but a little in the warm side. Jackson and Leah loved riding in the wagon together. They got to see a lot of animals.
We had a great time, until Leah had a meltdown and we had to leave early...

18 months!

Let's put these posts in order! :)

I haven't taken advantage of my new and improved blog design enough! So Leah turning 18 months is a great excuse to blog. I have been so busy blah blah blah...

Here is what is going on with Leahbean:

-She still takes gymnastics on Wednesdays at Little Gym. Although she doesn't like to sit still to hear the skill of the week, she enjoys this time each week getting to play on the equipment.

-She can almost do a forward roll, but we have to push her over.

-She can "jump." She doesn't really get off the ground, but she sure does try!

-Leah still loves to read books. Some of her favorites right now are: Yummy Yucky (if Daddy reads it), Elmo's Search and Find, and Big Little (She is obsessed with the picture of a bus at the end. Wheels on the bus go round and round...)

-She loves climbing into chairs. She works so hard to get into one, and then she hops right out.

-She already has said the short "a" words for awhile (Mama, Dada, Nana, Papa, baba, ba), but now she is talking more. She can now say G, Mimi, more, baby, Nee (Ernie), La-la (I want to watch Elmo, right now.), Mana (I think this is Amanda), and Ra-ra (Ryan).

-Leah knows some sign language. She tells us more, water, milk, cheese, and all-done.

-Leah loves to play outside. It was way too hot this summer for us to play outside, but now that it has cooled off a little, we slide in the backyard and go for walks around the street.

-She lovessss birdies, dogs, and any type of animal. her favorite episodes of Elmo's World are the one with pets and the one with birds.

-She has added some animal sounds to her vocabulary. She does a turkey, a dog, a sheep, a cow, a bunny, a chicken, a lion/tiger (kkkkkkkk), a horse (neigh neigh neigh), and although not an animal, she does the Count (ah-ah-ah-ah).

-She is such a good helper. She still helps take out the trash with Daddy when she gets the chance, but now she can also put the clothes into the dryer and close it. She also helps me empty the silverware out of the dishwasher and puts her toys away.

-Leahbean looooooves fruit. She likes berries, pears, mandarin oranges, pineapple, watermelon, peaches, bananas, you name it. But her FAVORITE is grapes. She keeps saying more and more and more until there aren't any grapes left! It's a good thing she loves cheese so it can even out her digestive system...

-Some of her favorite foods: fruit (of course), peanut butter, graham crackers, cheese, milk, beans (Daddy doesn't approve), pizza, lasagna, chicken, raisins, and of course, every kid's favorite--mac and cheese!

-Leah sleeps really well at night, but her naps are iffy and short.

-She would rather push the stroller, wagon, shopping cart, and bike than ride in it.
