Zoo Boo!

Today we took Leah to the zoo for the first time. It was extra fun because all the kids were dressed up for Halloween. Leah wasn't very interested in the animals, but we all still had fun. We got to see the sweet baby elephant too! They had a pumpkin patch where you can decorate a pumpkin to take home. We got some great pics!

As you can see from the pictures, she got cranky and fell asleep. We tuckered her out again!
Can't wait to go back, especially since we bought a membership! :)

October 17, 2010

I'm late, I'm late!

For a very important date!

On October 12, my baby girl turned 6 months old! And now, I have a minute to post some new developments:
-Leah now weighs 16 pounds, 13 ounces. She is 27.5 inches tall!

-I went back to work and Leah started spending her days with Nana and Mimi. I miss her dearly, but she (and her G-mas) are having a grand ole time!

-Leah has decided she likes anything with buttons- remotes, phones, keyboards. So we got her a toy phone that I hope she finds equally thrilling.

- She has become very GRABBY! She wants what you have.

- Leah has started to sit up on her own. She is still a little unstable, but she will be there soon!

-She has a mighty strong gag reflex. She has vomited on me and poor Aunt Cassie because she likes to put her fist a little too far in her mouth. Ick!

-Daddy and Leah have shrieking contests!

-She giggles at the most random things, and ALWAYS gets the hiccups after her giggles.

-She is a rolly-polly! She rolls back and forth, back and forth. This is her first means of transportation.

-Watch out for your hair and earrings, people! Leah has a Kung Fu grip!

-We took Leah to the Katy Rice harvest Festival last weekend. We thought the weather would be perfect, but it was HOT! It wasn't my best idea ever.

-Now that the weather is nice, we like to go walking even more around the neighborhood. We also sit out on the driveway and hang out on her blankey. She gets all the neighbors' attention, and she loves that!

-Nana and Mimi have had some success getting Leah to sleep in her bed for naps. Hooray!

-She has learned to breath out of her mouth. She sounds like a panting doggy. -She is still blowing raspberries!

-She has expanded her vocal chords!

-She took her last bath on the kitchen cabinet. I was soaked, the kitchen was soaked. So, now we have moved her bath into the big bath tub! She has also started showing some love to rubber duckie. It's very cute!

-She likes to "throw it in the pan." She has been doing "Patty-Cake" since she was brand new and know we see her arm doing the motion. So smart! I think she had also learned to wave, but I will update that one next month.

-Tummy time is not so bad anymore because she can push herself up and roll over whenever she pleases!

-She got her 1st booboo. A paper cut from Nana's magazine. It's ok, Nana! I'm all better!

-She is way more into her jumper this month!

-Leah gets dressed up for game day!

-She and Daddy have a nightly routine. They have a special pajama routine:

A few more odds and ends:

6 months!

I know, I know. I owe you a post. I promise it will come this weekend when I have a spare second. And to those of you who say "If you only blog once a month, why even blog?" Phooey on you. :P

5 months old!

Happy 5 months, precious Leah! The last 5 months of my life have gone by so fast. I have watched my little newborn grow into a personable baby. She is doing something new everyday, and we just have to keep up with her!

Leah's favorites- month 5:
Favorite food: milk!

Favorite non-milk food: cereal with applesauce

Favorite weekend outing: Children's Museum (Check out lots o' pics on another post)

Favorite time of day: When Daddy gets home!

Favorite toy: all of them, as long as they taste good

Favorite nighttime friend: her music box in her crib

Favorite pasttime: blowing raspberries (while eating, while she's supposed to be sleeping, in waiting rooms-lol, and ALL THE TIME)

What's New?
-Leah is now 15 pounds, 12 ounces!

-She is giggling! It's the most precious thing I have ever seen, so far.

-She is grabbing hair and faces. She seems to think grabbing my hair is giggle-worthy!

-She rolls over! No more tummy time for Miss Leah. If we put her on her tummy, she rolls over in less than 5 seconds. "Haha!" she says.

-She has 2 new Aggie dresses. Sadly, we only got pics in one of them. Next time!

-She is very interested in food and drinks. She tries to grab cups and food, and also looks up at me whenever I take a sip of something.

-She has started playing in her jumper from Uncle Ted and Aunt Susan. She really likes it, but isn't quite stable enough to stay in it for long. I can definitely see the potential!

-She still loves her playplace, and that's not new. BUT now she is kicking and batting the toys so hard she pulled one off the other day. She gets INTO it!

-She met her brand-new friend, Jackson Rheman this week. They weren't very interested in each other, haha.

-We went to storytime at the library and sang songs with other kids. Leah seemed to have fun and paid attention better than many of the toddlers.

-She loves to eat her toes!

-She squeals and screams! Watch out restaurant goers!

Some pics to enjoy!
